Work aloft on
radar antenna

Prior to the winter layup in November 2003, I removed the radar antenna and sent it to Furuno for replacement of the antenna drive motor. The following photos were taken in the spring of 2004 when I went aloft to reinstall the radome.

Radome resting on the foredeck
and attached to the spinnaker
halyard as I get into the bos'n
chair and prepare to go aloft

The men behind the scenes who
are providing the muscle to hoist
my 200 lbs up the mast

Up, up and away

Finally at working height I
wrestle the radome into position
for remounting

Bolting the radome
mounting brackets
to the mast

With the work aloft complete
I signal the crew below to
lower me to the deck
